Whereas, Jim Thorpe, Wa Tha Huck (Bright Path), Sac and Fox Indian:
- won the Decathlon and the Pentathlon in the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm, Sweden
- started Pro-football as the first president of the National Football League (NFL)
- played Pro-baseball for 20 years in the major leagues
- was named by the Assicoated Press Poll in 1950 America's Greatest All-Around Athlete and the Greatest Football player of the half century
Therefore, I support naming Jim Thorpe as America's Greatest All-Around Athlete and greatest football player of the Century in 2000.
