IN ALL WISCONSIN MINES Mining-related cyanide spills have caused massive fish kills around the world. The proposed Crandon mine near the Wolf River would use up to 200 tons of cyanide a year in ore processing. Other mines may also be in Wisconsin's future, transporting cyanide on our roads, and storing toxic mine wastes at the headwaters of our pristine fishing streams. Vilas and Oneida counties and Montana have banned cyanide in mining. Over 58 percent of Wisconsin citizens back a new bill banning cyanide in mining.
